Hello April

It's the beginning of spring so I've decided to take on a project of redoing my desk area! It needs some major cleaning but I also want to make it a place where I feel like being creative. I feel like this should be a doable task but we'll see. I have some ideas of how to make it an inspiring place for me and I'm so excited for it. Next week I'll start posting pictures of what I'm doing and how I'm doing it. So make sure to be looking for that.

In the meantime this April is going to be super busy for me. I have my Quidditch club starting up which at the beginning will be a lot of work but I am looking forward to it. And of course I only have 5 weeks of school left which is nerve racking but I'm hoping to get no C's. It's a lofty goal.

Washi Keyboard. Craft!

I've been wanting to redo my keyboard with washi tape for awhile and finally got around to it! I love it. I just got the washi tape at Hobby Lobby for half off and started sizing and cutting. It's super easy to pull them off and recut them if needed, which I needed to a lot. Hopefully they stay on well. :)

Update Your Mirror

I've had the same old mirror for five years now. I decided I wanted to put two mirrors together on my wall but I didn't want the cheap looking plastic around it. The first mirror was super easy to take the back off and put up. I used command strips and held down the tabs with washi tape (3). But the second mirror I recently purchased was difficult and had glue all around it rather than just being placed in cardboard (2). Which means I ended up breaking it (1) so I'll have to find a new craft to use broken mirror on. Thinking about doing my book shelf with mirror pieces around it. We'll see. The finished product after hanging and putting icicle lights around it (4).
Have any suggestions for me to make my tutorials better? Let me know!

Updating Photography

Today I'm going to be updating my Photo a Week and Photo a Day post. I've taken a photo a day but realized it's a lot easier to upload them all at once. I'm also going to be doing a simple craft post on re-purposing a mirror so follow my blog by submitting your email to the right!

Tablet Cover

For Christmas I got a drawing tablet. I got it a couple weeks early so I knew that I wanted a cover for it so that it wasn't just exposed to the inside of my purse/backpack.

There are many different ways that I could have gone about making this but I decided to make it like a flip purse to act as a preliminary draft for a flip purse I want to make next week.

Materials:
Spare fabric
Sewing machine

1. I took out my fabric and found a scrap piece that was for sure big enough.
2. Folding the material over so I placed my drawing tablet on top of the fabric to find where I should cut and how far I wanted it to fold over.
3. I cut the fabric so that there was some room on each side of the tablet to be sewed with room to spare. It should be noted if your tablet is thick that you should add more fabric to the sides to allow for room.
4. I put right sides together and sewed the sides up and the top to make it look prettier.

Since this is just for my tablet I didn't see a need to add anything to close the fabric up, like a zipper or button, but on the purse next week I will be putting a zipper at the top of the purse. Come back next week and I will have that done and a tutorial for you.

If you have any suggestions please let me know!

Starting Up Again

For this new years I'm going to start doing this blog again. I'll be putting up whatever I do that I think would be good for people to see and use. Such as crafts, photography, game dev, and such. I'll be starting early obviously. Soon I'll figure out what my schedule will be for blogging even once school starts up again and then start putting up photos of the ice covering everything where I live once I get them edited :)
